I drew this with Alchemy, a free open-source program that uses vector graphics and an arsenal of awesome tools. It also has no undo-button. :D It does, however, have a setting that will automatically save for you, so you never have to worry about loosing the original copy of something and can look at how the work progressed through the drawing process. The first of these two pictures is the first save file; I scribbled it in around two minutes, and from there produced the second image in something close to half an hour. Alchemy never fails to amaze me at the speed I am able to make something in, even if it comes out looking sloppy; however, that is the point of the program, as it's designed to make concept art, and thus the work isn't really supposed to look extremely polished.

Zelda
I'm not sure how many of you remember my Zelda drawings on my last blog, but here's another I drew. It's Zelda from the Skyward Sword. :D Looking at it now, I see how much I messed it up, but that's what I get for only spending 5-6 hours on it. (Plus I pressed too hard with my pencil so I couldn't erase.) :D
Once again, I'm blaming my scanner for the weird contrast and lighting. :D

Figure Test
I sketched the first one late one night, and then I drew the second one over a long-ish period of time. Somehow they turned out to look kinda different, LOL. :D (I'll probably post these with higher contrast sometime later to define the lines more. My scanner made the second look rather gray and the first a little too sharp. LOL. Whatever.)
Lent
Greetings to all my non-existent fans!
I'm giving up computer for lent and so from Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22) until Easter Sunday (April 8) I will only be able to post once a week: Sundays, and even then I may not post, so don't expect to hear much from me for a while!
Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a good Lent!
Best Regards,
James Declan Hench

My Old Blog's Logo
I'm still working on a logo for my fictitious company. Here is my first draft.
Just thought I would throw this up here. Enjoy! ;D

Leaves
It is February.
The snow
Melts
And the dry
August leaves
Blow
Aimlessly around
Through the streets
and the grass.
They wait
for the next of their
Kind
To blossom
And take their place,
Never knowing
When
To give up.
The Last
The last of the worst
Is when the fire will thirst,
And when the sorrow will mercifully cry.
The beautiful burst
When the flowers are cursed
Is when the burrowing heroes will die.
Journal
A girl
writes
her own story.
She adds
the date
to
the page,
but it changes
when
she looks away.
Someone wishes
to
gain
her attention.
Thinking
she made
a mistake,
she erases,
and rewrites
the
marker
of the day.
But
it turns
and
changes
once again.
No matter
how hard
she tries,
her pen
will
not
forget.

Glasses
My good friend James Hench suggested that I post these renders over here since originally I just had them on my other blog. Enjoy! :D
