Painter's Hat

I am, myself,
         a painter’s hat;
I see the models he draws,
    but yet,
I am so high,
         lopsided on his head,
And I’ll never know
              why he paints in black.

  1. I'll stop myself! I can just feel a deep Dalu Interpretation coming on, and you probably are just stating the obvious life of a painter's hat. :P Now I've got to go and find some deep cavern of meaning, as usual--I make things to hard. So I'll stop myself this time (and find out you DID have a deep meaning, of course) and just say I'm wondering myself, Why DOES the painter paint in black? Hmm....maybe I'm a hat myself. :P LOL
    Can't wait for more!

  2. Dalu,
LOL XD Hilariously enough, you probably could have just gone ahead with your interpretation this time; there was supposed to be a meaning behind it--something rather abstract I think--but I've forgotten what it was since I wrote the poem half a year ago or so. XD
LOL, actually, I never really found out why that's the color he uses; it came to my mind and just seemed to fit, and keeps me wondering whenever I read it (even though I wrote it so it's kind of weird in a way, LOL). So, you're right; we all fit into the perspective of the narator, and that's how I meant it. :D

  3. Ben,
AARRRRGGGHHH! I knew it! I had this gut feeling that I should have done it! Fie! :P LOL Half a YEAR?? How many gems do you have floating about that you haven't posted yet? LOL
Ha! Maybe ye should put little interpretations at the end of the poems ye write so their deep meanings don't get forgot. XD ;D
Oh, btw, I working on a major overhall in my writing blog, if ye'd like to stop by and see. Scare and I are hoping maybe to make a blog specifically for our random writings, which we hope to be quite funny, too. ;D

    1. LOL! I think I posted all of my "gems" by now, actually. :D I have some 'mud-pies,' 'paper-fillers' and other stuff like that, which aren't worth salvaging, but now I have to actually write more. :P
Ha-ha! Actually, I think that either I'd spend an evening writing an interpretation or it wouldn't make any sense for later reference anyway. :D Plus I like to forget what my poems mean so I can reinterpret and enlarge their meaning later. :) Makes it more like a creation and less like a puzzle with instructions. Interpreting them as I write them would probably be a good idea, however. XD
Yeah I saw that! I saw the changes to your old blog, which look awesome, and the even better totally new, fresh blog! I plan on leaving some comments later tonight if I get the time. :D
