The Agony

This being lent, I've composed a few lines about the Agony in the Garden. Hope this isn't too serious for this blog.

The Agony

Alone He faced them all,
All the crimes of the world.
Beginning with the fall,
He saw all sins unfurled.

Bleeding bloody sweat,
Alone He knelt to weep.
He saw the price was set,
And the horror cut Him deep.

But upon His feet He rose.
"Not My will but Thine be done."
To the traitor's kiss He goes,
For man's salvation must be won.

  1. I LOVE IT! It's so beautiful! I love the triumph at the end! "For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, despising it's shame, and is now seated at the right hand of God." :D Do you write poetry often, because I would definitely like to see more of it. Wow! :D

    **********!

    P.S.
I'm going to ask permission for ye to see me blog. ;)

  2. LOL, I forgot to comment on this sooner! Lucky for me that you haven't found out yet and won't until Sunday. :P LOL
Definitely it's not too serious! (I mean, it's good and serious, but it's awesome art, so it makes a wonderful addition to this blog. :D) I love the way you put that story together in poetry form! It's great to hear messages from the Bible, and the arrangement is very deep and it helps me see from a slightly different angle that pulls out some things I sometimes miss! Marvelous job! Hope to see more of your work soon! :D

  3. Dalu,

Thank you as always for your nice comment!I write little bits of poetry now and then, not too much though, really. If I write more I'll certainly post it! Glad you liked it! Thanks again.

    P.S.
I'd love to see your blog if you can send me the link. If not, that's fine too!

    Ben,

Ha ha! Don't worry about commenting. Just do it whenever you get a chance, or not at all if you prefer. Thank you, although sometimes I think it is TOO story-ish, if that's a word. As I said above, I'll post more if I write more.

    Best Regards,

    J.D.H.
